While electric gates are commonly used to secure residential entrances, automated electric bollards are a highly effective yet reasonably priced alternative. We install standard automatic bollards, manual telescopic and removable bollards, as well as bollards for homes that require an exceptionally high level of security. These include PAS 68 high-level bollards and ANPR triggered bollards which can be made to recognise number plates.
Typically, we recommend spacing your bollards between 1.4 and 1.5 metres apart, centre to centre from a specific starting point like a wall or a hedge. This will allow pedestrians to comfortably walk through while preventing standard vehicles from accessing your property without authorisation.
With all our residential bollard installations, we advise thinking about whether you want key fob, remote control, smartphone or ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) control of your bollards. In addition, it’s worth considering the number of people who need access to your property and how often they're likely to visit.
